Looking back helps us appreciate how far we’ve come

It was our own family entrepreneurial roots that led founder Phyllis Jesiwa Dadson Bourne to expand into Legacy Planning and the supporting businesses that BGEI now offers. She passionately carries on the legacy her parents bestowed up her while bringing her own children into the fold.

When you attend a BGEI event, buy a BGEI product, engage or use a BGEI service, you experience and are welcomed into the BGEI Family.

19XX to 1989

Accra, Ghana

The patriarch of the Dadson Family, Mr. Emmanuel Kwamina Dadson and his wife set out to create a significant legacy for their family. By the time of Mr. Dadson’s death in 1989 they had acquired a large portfolio of business which his wife and children took over running. One of these children is Phyllis Jesiwa Dadson Bourne who has inherited her dad’s entrepreneurial spirit and compassion heart.

1989 to Present

Accra, Ghana and Orleans, Ontario Canada

Following Mr. Dadson’s passing it became clear that there wasn’t a clear succession plan in place and although many of the business still exist, the transition encountered many challenges and pitfalls. Phyllis Jesiwa Dadson Bourne was inspired to make sure other families don’t endure the same internal struggles and hardships and BGEI was born out of a passion to help others create their own legacy plans.

Present & Beyond

Accra, Ghana and Ottawa, Ontario Canada

Today, the BGEI team has expanded and now includes Phyllis’ husband as well as her children who following their educational pursuits are now involved in various ways. By incorporating their unique skills and passions, BGEI continues to expand into services that would benefit enterprising families. With BGEI’s support the rags to riches to rags cycle will be broken so that all that is built can be preserved throughout generations.
